Three distinct methods are used by the combination contraceptive pill Lucette to prevent conception. It functions by blocking the release of an egg from the ovaries, thickening the mucus around the womb’s neck to impede sperm passage, and altering the lining of the womb so that a fertilised egg cannot attach itself to it. Additionally, Dr Newtons offers Lucette pills for subscription purchase, which will save you both money and time!

Lucette: What is it?

A female contraceptive pill which is used to avoid unintended pregnancies. It's a combo pill that combines progesterone and oestrogen, two synthetic forms of the female sex hormones. These hormones are known as ethinylestradiol and drospirenone when they are synthetically produced in Lucette. Lucette is 99 per cent effective at preventing pregnancy when taken as prescribed.

How does Lucette function?

As previously indicated, Lucette combines ethinylestradiol and drospirenone, two synthetic forms of the female sex hormones progesterone and oestrogen. Together, these two artificial hormones stop an egg from being released from the ovaries. Additionally, they thicken the cervix's mucus, which hinders sperm cells' ability to enter the uterus.

How is Lucette used?

Before taking your first dose of medication, make sure to read the patient information booklet that comes with it. For 21 days, you should take one Lucette pill every day. You take a seven-day break after the twenty-first day. You will bleed during this period, just like you would during your menstruation. You start taking the tablet again on the eighth day and continue for another 21 days, and so on.

To ensure that you are protected from the beginning of your therapy, you should try to begin taking Lucette on the first day of your menstruation. You must use another method of birth control, like a condom, for the next seven days if you start taking Lucette between the second and fifth day of your menstrual cycle in order to stay protected.

What advantages does Lucette offer?

The following are a few advantages of Lucette:

  • Regular sex life is possible for you.
  • It hurts less to get your period.
  • It may lighten and regularise your menstrual cycles.
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) may be easier to control with its assistance.
What dosage of Lucette is appropriate?

The strength of Lucette, which is available for purchase from Dr Newtons, is shown as 3 mg/30 milligrams. These amounts indicate that each tablet contains 3 mg of drospirenone and 30 mcg of ethinylestradiol. We offer two packet sizes for you to choose from 63 and 126 tablets. Accordingly, these are appropriate for three and six months of protection.

  • Take your first Lucette pill on the day when your next injection is scheduled if you have already received one.
