How does Cerazette work?

Cerazette functions by keeping sperm cells out of the womb and, for the most part, keeping egg cells from maturing. It prevents conception in women by having a trace amount of the progestogen desogestrel, the female sex hormone.

What advantages come with using Cerazette?

By protecting women against unintended pregnancies, Cerazette users enjoy greater freedom in their daily and sexual lives. Cerazette includes a hormone that can help control a woman's menstrual cycle and, in severe cases, completely cease symptoms.

Progestogen-only (POP) and mixed forms of birth control pills are the two varieties available. For those women who cannot handle it or who are nursing, cerazette is an excellent option because it does not contain the hormone oestrogen.

Cerazette is a very successful form of contraception because, in addition to preventing sperm cells from entering the womb, as most POP pills do, it also largely stops egg cells from ripening.

How is Cerazette used?

Cerazette can only be purchased with a prescription. Read the patient information sheet included in the drug packaging and always heed your doctor's recommendations. Swallow the tablets whole along with some water to take them orally.

You should wait for your period to start and take the first tablet on the first day if you are not currently using hormonal contraception or have not used it in the previous month. Take the first Cerazette tablet the day after taking the final tablet in the current pack if you are currently using another form of birth control. In the event that you miss any days of taking the pill due to not starting Cerazette on these schedules, make sure you continue to prevent pregnancy by using barrier contraceptives, such as condoms.

If you are a new mother and would like to resume taking Cerazette, you can begin taking the tablets according to the directions 21 to 28 days after the baby is born. Your doctor can provide you with advice regarding Cerazette if you are breastfeeding or have experienced a miscarriage or abortion.

The days of the week and arrows directing people in the right direction are prominently shown on the packets. The first pill you take is determined by the day of the week you start (for instance, if you start on a Wednesday, take the tablet on the first row labelled 'Wed'). Take one pill daily in the direction indicated by the arrows until you have completed the pack, at which point you should immediately begin the next one.

What is the proper Cerazette dosage?

Cerazette users are advised to take one 75-microgram film-coated tablet containing desogestrel at roughly the same time each day. A 4-week supply, or 28 tablets, is included in the bundle.

If you have missed a pill take it as soon as you remember, and then take the next one at your regular time if you forget and notice it within 12 hours. During this period, you will continue to be safeguarded against becoming pregnant. You should still take the missed medication as soon as you remember it and take the following one at the scheduled time if it was more than 12 hours ago (this may mean taking two pills in one day, which is acceptable). But for the next seven days, you should use extra forms of contraception as you might no longer be protected against becoming pregnant.

It's possible that the active ingredient in Cerazette hasn't been fully absorbed if you throw up three to four hours after taking the tablet or experience severe diarrhoea. When it comes to forgotten medicines, use the same recommendations as before and take extra contraception if needed.
