How does Cerelle work?

Cerelle functions by keeping sperm cells out of the womb and, for the most part, keeping egg cells from maturing. It prevents conception in women by having a trace amount of the progestogen desogestrel, the female sex hormone.

What advantages does taking Cerelle offer?

Women who use Cerelle are protected against unintended pregnancies and have greater freedom in their every day and sexual lives. Cerelle includes a hormone that can help control a woman's menstrual cycle and, in severe cases, cease entirely symptoms.

There exist two distinct varieties of contraceptive pills: the progestogen-only pill, or POP, and the combination pill. Cerelle is a fantastic option for ladies who cannot handle oestrogen or for those who are nursing because it falls into the latter group.

Cerelle is a very effective type of contraception because, in addition to preventing sperm cells from accessing the womb, as most POP pills do, its dosage also mainly inhibits egg cells from maturing.

How is Cerelle used?

Cerelle Tablet

Cerelle can only be purchased with a prescription. Read the patient information sheet included in the drug packaging and always heed your doctor's recommendations. Swallow the tablets whole along with some water to take them orally.

You should wait for your period to start and take the first tablet on the first day if you are not currently using hormonal contraception or have not used it in the previous month. Take the first Cerelle tablet the day after taking the final tablet in the current pack if you are currently on another form of birth control. In the event that you miss any days of taking the pill due to not starting Cerelle on these schedules, make sure you continue to prevent pregnancy by using barrier contraceptives, such as condoms.

If you are a new mother and would like to resume taking Cerelle, you can begin taking the pills according to the directions 21 to 28 days after the baby is born. Your doctor can provide you advice regarding the use of Cerelle if you are breastfeeding or have experienced a miscarriage or abortion.

The packets are labelled with the days of the week and arrows to help users know which way to utilise them. Based on the day of the week you start, you choose your first pill (for instance, if you start on a Wednesday, take the tablet on the first row labelled 'Wed'). Following the arrows, take one tablet daily until the pack is finished, at which point immediately begin the following pack without interruption.

What is the recommended Cerelle dosage?

Desogestrel is included in 75 microgram film-coated tablets called Cerelle, which are meant to be taken once daily at roughly the same time by persons who use them. A 4-week supply, or 28 tablets, is included in the bundle.

If you forget to take a pill and notice it within a day or two, just take the missed dose as soon as you remember, and then take the following one at your regular time. During this period, your protection against becoming pregnant will be intact. If you forget to take a medication and it has been more than 12 hours, you should still take it as soon as you remember and take the following one at the scheduled time (it's okay to take two pills in one day in this situation). You should use extra forms of contraception for the next seven days as you might no longer be protected against becoming pregnant.

It's possible that the active ingredient in Cerelle hasn't been fully absorbed if you throw up three to four hours after taking the tablet or experience severe diarrhoea. When it comes to forgotten medicines, use the same recommendations as before and take extra contraception if needed.
