How does Dianette work?

Dianette is a combination of two female hormones: anti-androgen and oestrogen. The hormones that drive the growth of hair and the oil glands in your skin are blocked by the anti-androgen, while the oestrogen blocks an egg from being released from your ovaries.

What are the advantages of using Dianette?

In addition to protecting women from unintended pregnancies, Dianette is mostly used to treat skin conditions. Women often have sensitive skin, and treating skin conditions like acne and excessive hair growth boosts their self-esteem.

Grease glands may overproduce sebum if you are sensitive to the effects of androgen or if your androgen production is excessive. This may clog the grease glands, which may then become irritated and infected and develop acne. Clearer skin results from the reduction of androgen production caused by dinette, which also inhibits the androgens that cause skin irritation.

How is Dianette used?

Dianette can only be purchased with a prescription. Read the patient information sheet included in the drug packaging and always heed your doctor's recommendations. Swallow the tablets whole along with some water to take them orally.

To make sure you are protected from the first pill, you should take the first Dianette tablet on the first day of your next period.

The day after you finish your last pack of the previous medication is when you should start taking Dianette if you want to switch from another tablet to Dianette.

If you are totally mobile after giving birth, the ideal time for women to begin taking Dianette is 21 days after the delivery. But, in order to effectively prevent pregnancy during the first seven days of taking the pills, you will need to use supplemental contraception (such as condoms). See your doctor before starting Dianette if you have ever experienced an abortion or miscarriage.

The days of the week and arrows directing people in the right direction are prominently shown on the packets. The first pill you take is determined by the day of the week you start (for instance, if you start on a Wednesday, take the tablet on the first row labelled 'Wed'). Once you finish the pack, take one tablet daily in the direction indicated by the arrows.

How long is the Dianette effective for?

After consuming all 21 of the tablets in the pack, you ought to take a seven-day break from taking any more. As long as you take the medication as prescribed, you will remain protected against becoming pregnant throughout this period. You should start the next pack on the day that comes after the seven-day interval (for example, if you finished the final pill of the prior pack on a Friday, you should start the new pack on the Saturday after that). You should experience some vaginal bleeding similar to a menstrual flow during the break. If the bleeding hasn't ceased by the time you're scheduled to start the next Dianette pack, you should still start it on the scheduled day.

What is the recommended dosage for Dianette?

Each pack of Dianette tablets contains 35 micrograms of ethinylestradiol and 2 mg of cyproterone acetate. Users should take one tablet daily at around the same time for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break.

If you miss a tablet or start a strip later than usual, it might not work as well. It won't be an issue if you forget to take one pill; just take it as soon as you remember. You could not be protected against pregnancy if you miss more than one or begin a pack more than one day later. If this occurs, take the pill as usual, leaving any missing doses in the pack and using the most recent missed tablet, but for seven days, use supplementary contraception (such as condoms).

That pill may not give your body the normal amount of hormones if you are ill or experiencing severe diarrhoea. Simply take a pill from a spare strip if you become ill within two hours of taking Dianette. If at all possible, continue taking your medications as prescribed; additional contraception shouldn't be necessary.

Complete the strip of tablets you are taking if you wish to postpone getting your period. The following day, begin the next strip without the customary seven-day break and proceed as usual.
