What is Noriday?

The active component of Noriday pills, an oral contraceptive, is norethisterone, a synthetic form of progesterone, a hormone involved in female sex. Unlike combination contraceptive pills, which include both progesterone and oestrogen, this pill simply contains progesterone.

For the duration of the treatment, Noriday must be taken at the same time every day. It does not have a pill-free interval like other contraceptive tablets.

How Does Noriday Work?

Noriday employs three distinct methodologies:

  • In order to hinder sperm from entering the womb and fertilising an egg, it thickens the fluid at the entrance.
  • It alters the womb's lining to make it more difficult for fertilised eggs to develop there.
  • It stops an egg from maturing and being released by the ovaries.
What are the advantages of taking Noriday?

The primary advantage of consuming Noriday tablets is their ability to prevent pregnancy. You won't become pregnant as long as you take the medication as prescribed.

How should I take Noriday?

While taking Noriday tablets, always adhere to the directions provided by your physician or family practice nurse. If not, the guidelines below will be in effect.

The 28 tablets in the Noriday packet have a blister strip with the days of the week printed above the pills. The direction in which the pills should be taken is indicated with an arrow. In the event that your packet starts on a Monday, you will insert your first pill via the blister labelled "Mon," take the second pill from "Tue," and so on.

Every day of the month, you should take one Noriday pill at approximately the same time, preferably before bed. In contrast to other contraceptive pills, Noriday tablets do not require a seven-day pause.

Chew or crumble the Noriday tablets; instead, swallow them whole.

Refer to the patient information sheet included with the medication box for guidance if you have missed or forgotten to take a pill.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember if it was less than three hours after you usually take your daily tablet. Then, continue taking the next dose on the following day as normal. Nothing about your protection against getting pregnant will change.

Take your daily pill as soon as you recall if it has been longer than three hours since your usual dose, and then resume your regular dosage the next day. For the next seven days, utilise extra protection, like a condom, due to the possibility of becoming pregnant.

Take the first pill of a new Noriday package on the first day of your next period or as soon as your regular bleeding starts. When taking Noriday for the first seven days, you won't be sufficiently protected from getting pregnant. Using a condom for the following seven days is one of the wisest extra safeguards to take.

What is the proper Noriday dosage?

For twenty-eight days, take one Noriday pill daily. As soon as you finish the final pill in the previous pack, begin taking the fresh pack on the first day. With Noriday, there isn't a seven-day pill-free period.
